This online History Class is designed for students in grades 2, 3 & 4 and will be taught through Zoom. These classes are an opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge of history through a particular lens. Each class will consist of a historical overview followed by discussion questions and a group activity. There will be a different topic offered each week. Some the specific classes include:History of Transportation: Students will learn about the evolution of trains, boats, planes and automobiles before testing their very own paper airplanes to understand the principles of aerodynamics. Women's History: Women such as Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, and Marie Curie will be covered to provide a broader understanding of the role that exceptional women have played throughout history. The History of Borders: This subject will be split into individual classes about the history of countries in different parts of the world. Students will learn how the lines between countries were drawn. Cost is $30 for each one hour class. The instructor will contact the students prior to the start of class at the email on file; parents can forward email to student if a different email is preferred.
